My practice specializes in treating anxiety and obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders in children, adolescents, and young adults. Anxiety is manageable but finding the right therapist can be difficult. Successful treatment depends on a strong therapeutic relationship and the right therapy approach. My work with clients is grounded in a strong therapeutic alliance that emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and collaborative goal-setting.
My treatment philosophy integrates cognitive-behavioral principles with other effective forms of psychotherapy that work for different populations. I use a collaborative approach with a goal oriented focus with parents, schools, and clinicians to bridge mental health service delivery from community to school and vice-versa. I encourage active collaboration and support for my clients’ families as well as a strong school/community alliance to promote successful transitions and positive outcomes for children and adolescents.
Utilizing evidence-based approaches my practice provides cognitive-behavioral therapy, parenting support, behavior management, relaxation skills, and school consultation. In addition to treating anxiety spectrum disorders, I have extensive experience treating issues that often co-occur with anxiety such as school refusal, Attention Deficit Issues, Tourette's/Tics, Social Communication and Autism Spectrum Disorders, Mood Dysregulation and Executive Functioning Deficits.
Prospective new clients are encouraged to call the office for an initial phone consultation prior to making their first appointment.
